madteckhead added these pithy words on Sep 14 08 at 11:50 amHi, Great work on the theme I especially like the AJAX. I’ve made a few small mods to it that you might be interested in checking out over at my site.
I’m a bit stuck with something and was hoping I may be able to get your advice. I’ve been trying to add images (a rss icon) beside the “Subscribe to RSS” on the home page, however after about 6 hours I gave up. I’m no css expert, but I did cover everything I could think of. Even tried hard coding the image; but nothing. I did get it to show up at one stage, but then couldn’t work out how to position it correctly.
I would also like to add some small icons beside each post title, same same but different.
Hope you can find the time to make a suggestion. Kind regards,
Nathan
madteckhead added these pithy words on Sep 14 08 at 11:54 amO yeah… one more thing. I’ve removed Categories from my AJAX menu, and replaced it with Pages. Only think is that sub pages don’t seem to display in a nested fashion as they have on past themes. To be honest I havn’t tried fixing this problem yet, but thought I would check in with your first.
Many thanks, and great work with the themeing.
Nathan
Neuville added these pithy words on Sep 14 08 at 5:46 pmHey Nathan,
nice mashup you’ve done with the theme. What kind of icons would you like to add below the titles? stuff like social bookmarking?
for the rss icon and the child pages, I’ll look into the code to try to solve your needs, I’ll keep you posted at these pages.
Neuville added these pithy words on Sep 14 08 at 6:25 pm@ Nathan: a quick and dirty way to add the RSS in the top sidebar.
Backup your greyville folder before doing this. If something should mess up you’ll get an easy recovery of your customizations.
Download the RSS icon at this link: http://www.neuville.it/wp/wp-content/themes/feelgrey/images/rss.png
Go into your wp-content/themes/greyville folder and create an images folder
Upload the RSS icon into that folder
Edit your sidebar into the WP template editor. Add these lines of code:
< img style="margin-right:3px;margin-top:-5px;margin-bottom:-5px;" width="20" src="< ?php bloginfo('stylesheet_directory'); ? >/images/rss.png” />
(Remove the blank space from the line < img)just after the end of the Home button ( home< /a >)
It should work. Let me know if you get into troubles. For the child pages styling I’ll have to go through the stylesheet as I have some time.
madteckhead added these pithy words on Sep 15 08 at 3:28 pmHi Neuville,
Thanks for taking the time to have a look and get back to me. I added the code you suggested but to no avail. No image showed up at all. What would prevent that? Have you tried it on your site/test site? - Its at the stage now where it is really bugging me, I should be able to work it out but I just can’t put my finer on what would be stopping it from working. Hmmm… look forward to your thoughts.Cheers,
Nathan
Cpzee added these pithy words on Sep 16 08 at 3:52 amI love the theme and am currently using it for my site (postaroni.com) however no one can view the site in Internet Explorer and I wanted to see if that has been an issue for you and if you know of a fix?
HGH added these pithy words on Sep 18 08 at 4:38 pmExcellent theme. I love it!
Samuel Brière added these pithy words on Sep 20 08 at 2:18 amNice theme but where is the page ?

Thanks !
Neuville added these pithy words on Sep 20 08 at 12:49 pm@ Cpzee
the basic version works fine in IE (tested from 6 up to 7), you can view it running at the official wordpress demo (http://wp-themes.com/greyville/).I noticed you made some customizations that may cause template breaks, check if there is some unclosed
@ Samuel Brière
what do you exactly mean? I can see the theme working fine at your website

Jeff added these pithy words on Nov 06 08 at 1:03 amGreat theme! I have a couple customization questions, however. In the moo-scripted box, how can I change those? Ideally I’d like to replace the “Comments” box with an “About” page and swap positions. I took a look at the sidebar.php page and found the code but am really unsure how to complete the task. Is it possible?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Neuville added these pithy words on Nov 09 08 at 12:32 pmHello Jeff,
it is possible, just replace the comments code with your about text (and ensure you’ve changed the title, too)I’m currently working on a new version of the theme that will give more easyness to replace things in the sidebar (but I’m not still sure when it will be released)
Jeff added these pithy words on Nov 09 08 at 5:48 pmThanks, Neuville. I’ll give that a try.
Then I’ll await new features. =}
Pirquino added these pithy words on Nov 09 08 at 10:30 pmHello Neuville!
I’m using your theme for my blog and really like it.
But is there a way to change the grey header by a picture?
I’m not a topcoder at all and can’t find it.Thanks in advance,
Pirquin
Pirquino added these pithy words on Nov 10 08 at 1:16 pmA night of sleep can do miracles!
Found it!
I assume it was to simple just to try a background image tag.But thanks for the theme!
madteckhead added these pithy words on Nov 11 08 at 5:06 amHi Neuville,
Still loving the themes over at my site. Just upgraded to Wordpress 2.6.3 and the theme seems to have stopped working. :/ I breaks when you are not logged in as admin on the front or full post pages. It seems to only load the title then hang. Source view reviels that it is not revieving any more data after the div class=content. Only seems to happen in Firefox as loaded fine in Safari. Any ideas, but annoying that none can view content. Hope you can help.Cheers,
Nathan
madteckhead added these pithy words on Nov 11 08 at 5:50 amPlease discard my last message. It ended up being a rss import plugin that had been causing problems for a while. :/ Disabling all plugins and re-enabling one at a time was the method I took. It was happening with all themes. Not just this one. Sorry for any confusion.
elle added these pithy words on Nov 16 08 at 2:43 amjust wanted to say thanks for the theme. I customized it a bit which to match my site. Really like the folding screen and layout.
Thanks again
Kate added these pithy words on Nov 16 08 at 7:22 amLOVE your template, thank you so much! Can you help me with a few little things?
1. How do I replace the header image?
2. How can I change the text/name of some of the titles such as Blogroll, Categories, etc. Thanks so much in advance!
Kate
Neuville added these pithy words on Nov 16 08 at 11:57 amHello Kate, for the header you can just set a background image in the stylesheet.
To change the text of the widgets you should refer to your widgets section (under design) in you wordpress installation.
Ciao!
Kate added these pithy words on Nov 20 08 at 4:25 amthanks for the reply…I just can’t find the background image in the stylesheet…can you point me to it? Thanks so much!
Jeff added these pithy words on Nov 20 08 at 4:37 amJust wanted to again thank you for the theme. It’s coming along quite nicely…
